This season, Hope Chapel would like to bless our worker’s local church in Ankara. The children’s classrooms were flooded and much of their supplies and furnishings needed to be discarded (not unlike our own kids wing!). Please consider making a donation to cover costs of refurnishing the rooms with crafts and supplies, rugs, a new coat of paint, and storage furniture. We would love to raise $1000 to cover all these costs! Thank you so much for your generosity.
The Sherwins have returned and their baby is healthy! Please join us in welcoming Michael, Allison, and Aeden Sherwin home for a short respite. They will be sharing about God’s movement in South Africa and how He’s expanding His kingdom throughout the nations!
We will serve a light lunch in the Lighthouse September 23 beginning at 12:30 PM, so please RSVP to Marty St. Onge by September 20.
Carlos Calderon has served with Partners International for 27 years and has been instrumental in training and mentoring local leaders to equip them to reach their own people with the gospel. Come receive practical tools that will enable you to engage the culture around you while loving people well. RSVP Ceci@theproegers.com
Jesus sends his followers to make more followers in all nations, just like He did when He was walking the earth in human form. Be like Jesus. Either GO or SEND!
Would you like to learn more about how to be a good sender, like Jesus?
Spend a day with the Hope Global Team as we host experts from All Nations who will teach us how to better serve our people working abroad. Learn how to be effective in caring, equipping, and sending!
Do you enjoy encouraging our workers, and praying for God to advance His kingdom through them? Then please join us for a Skype prayer time with our overseas friends, the Smith family. We will meet in Hala and Deb’s office at 9am, October 22 for a 45 minute power prayer time. All are welcome!
The end of summer is near, and with that comes a rush of University students back into Austin gearing up for another year. Around 6000 of these students come from all over the world and have basic needs that we can meet as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Watch this video, or read below!
Friendship Family/ Individual:
You can become a support and a friend to one, or many, international students looking for a connection! Show them around Austin, invite them into your home for a meal, take them grocery shopping… there are many ways to connect with a student!
ESL Conversation Partners or English classes:
You can meet with a student to intentionally help them practice their English, or take on a group of students and lead an English class. Hope Chapel has plenty of resources for this, so teaching degree not required.
World Welcome will also be facilitating regular gatherings for international students interested in staying connected. We would love to have Hope-ites participating in these activities as well.
