Why is it so hard to trust God sometimes?

We say we trust Him with our mouths, but often not with our lives. We live like God can’t be trusted. Like He doesn’t actually want what is best for us. Like He is just another person who, as Eve assumed in the Garden all those years ago, might hold out on us. Bestselling author Jackie Hill Perry, in her much anticipated follow-up to “Gay Girl, Good God,” helps us find the reason we don’t trust God—we misunderstand His holiness. In “Holier Than Thou,” Jackie walks us through Scripture, shaking the dust off of “holy” as we’ve come to know it and revealing it for what it really is. In these pages, we will see that God is not like us. He is different. He is holy. And that’s exactly what makes Him trustworthy. As it turns out, God being “holier than thou” is actually the best news in the world, and it’s the key to trusting Him.

  4. FAM Lemonade Stand!

    ›

FAM’s annual lemonade stand is back! We’ll be set up during the first Summer Fun Night on June 11th at 5PM.

Proceeds benefit our local non profit friend, Foster Village. Foster Village provides practical resources and support to foster and reunified families in Austin.

We hope to see you there!

If you are interested in manning the stand with FAM please reach out to Mandy!

It’s a really fun activity for a family to do together or for adults without kiddos to sit back and hang out. Anyone is welcome! Additionally, if you’d like to provide resources for us – donating lemonade/snacks/etc – we’d love that kind of help too!

Come spend time with us and hang out with the FAM!

  5. Pickleball and Grill Fun Night!

    ›

Join us for our 1st of 3 Summer Fun Nights at 5:30 p.m. for a night of grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, playing pickleball (they’re competitive) and enjoying good company at Hope Chapel.

The tournaments start promptly to ensure we have time to complete the competition before the darkness creeps up on us.

Help Wes, Assistant & Youth Pastor, prep for the night by signing up early. You can still sign-up to play that night.
