What's new at Hope.

  1. Women of Hope Discipleship Class

This is a simple class designed for women who are unfamiliar with reading scripture but desire to understand it and read it more. You can be new to faith in Christ, deciding if this is what you believe, or a believer who just never really learned to read scripture. This is a space for you to learn and grow with us.

    Here’s what we’ll be covering:

    • Reading through the gospel of John
    • Learning what the gospel of John says about God
    • Learning how it relates to the old testament scriptures in the bible
    • Learning how to invite the Holy Spirit to lead us in reading and interpreting scripture.

    Requirements:

    • Women only
    • A commitment to attend weekly groups
    • Read assigned passages from the book of John during the week
    • Pray and journal about what you’ve read each time you read

    Wednesdays, September 13th – November 8, 6pm – 7:30pm

(during Family Night groups, childcare provided until full)

    Hope Chapel Room 205

Sermon on the Mount, a study by Jen Wilkin

In His sweeping depiction of kingdom citizenship, Jesus utters some of the most familiar passages in all of Scripture. Most of us have only encountered the Sermon on the Mount in fragments, considering its subdivisions as complete teachings in their own right—a study on blessedness; a reflection on the Lord’s Prayer; a discussion of religious devotion, money, ambition, and relationships.

What if we navigated these three chapters in Matthew as they were originally heard? What if we read them as one cohesive, well-ordered message, intended to challenge us to think differently about what it means to be a follower of Jesus?

This 9-session study will give you the opportunity to do just that. Come and learn from Jesus, just as His disciples did.

  4. Women’s Summer Books & Breakfast

Join us this summer as we read Amy Cogdell’s book In the Bosom of Abraham, a journey into the story of our first spiritual father—the man who set the stage for the unfolding of salvation history. This is not your typical bible study, but rather a biblical meditation, listening in on the author’s thoughts and questions directed to the God of Abraham. The question she pursues, and we will explore, is how one becomes a friend of the Triune God.

Dates: Thursdays, June 6th-July 25th, 2024 (we will break for July 4th)

    Time: 9:30-11:30am
