  3. Did you miss the Smiths?

Do you enjoy encouraging our workers, and praying for God to advance His kingdom through them? Then please join us for a Skype prayer time with our overseas friends, the Smith family. We will meet in Hala and Deb’s office at 9am, October 22 for a 45 minute power prayer time. All are welcome!

  4. World Welcome Opportunities!

The end of summer is near, and with that comes a rush of University students back into Austin gearing up for another year. Around 6000 of these students come from all over the world and have basic needs that we can meet as the hands and feet of Jesus.

Watch this video, or read below!

    Friendship Family/ Individual:

You can become a support and a friend to one, or many, international students looking for a connection! Show them around Austin, invite them into your home for a meal, take them grocery shopping… there are many ways to connect with a student!

ESL Conversation Partners or English classes:

You can meet with a student to intentionally help them practice their English, or take on a group of students and lead an English class. Hope Chapel has plenty of resources for this, so teaching degree not required.

World Welcome will also be facilitating regular gatherings for international students interested in staying connected. We would love to have Hope-ites participating in these activities as well.

Please contact Christine Wilson to find out more!

  5. World Mandate Conference!

Save the Date: January 28 @ Hope in the City

World Mandate is a conference hosted by Antioch church in Waco, Texas  with the goal of inspiring followers of Jesus to change the world with the love of Jesus. The conference is a wonderful mix of worship and nations-minded speakers. This year Francis Chan and Tracy Evans will be guest speakers.

Hope in the City will be live-streaming the event in south Austin and have invited us to join them. Cost is $10, and the event will begin at 3pm Saturday afternoon, and finish around 10pm. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend!

World Mandate is an amazing time to be encouraged by what God is doing around the world! You will be inspired by how He might want to use you here in Austin or in the ends of the world.
