Last reminder about the Prayer Room training tomorrow, May 19 from 9AM-2PM at Hope Chapel.

The Hope Prayer Room is not affiliated with Hope Chapel per se, but two of our members, Colin and Melissa Dwyer, are on the leadership team. Their team is offering this training at Hope Chapel for worship leaders, worship team members, intercessors, and everyone who wants to grow in and learn more about prayer and worship.  All ages are welcome.  They will share their vision and values and will also lead us in “practicing” what we are learning. We expect this to be a rich and satisfying time together!

Hope Chapel has a history of joining with other churches in worship and prayer for Austin, and this is a new opportunity to participate in a city-wide effort.

The Hope Prayer Room is housed in the ADRN headquarters on East 51st street.   Presently HPR offers several 2-hour shifts of prayer and worship times weekly.  Their goal is to see more 2-hour shifts covered with worship and prayer and to train more worshippers and leaders to that end. Their long-term vision is to see 24/7 prayer and worship to the Lord for our city.  Another important part of this training is to prepare us to participate in on-going intercessory prayer and worship during times of crisis.

The training tomorrow at Hope Chapel is a prerequisite for worship leaders and team members to be able to lead worship at the Hope Prayer Room. It also opens the door for us to join existing worship teams who lead at HPR, either weekly or monthly, and lastly, to rally together for worship and prayer when disaster strikes.  

We hope to see you at Hope Chapel tomorrow morning at 9am! Let’s press in to see more worship and prayer in and for the city of Austin!  For His glory and for the good of our city!

All Nations (founded by Floyd McClung) will be in Austin mid-April to help us become better senders of our people to overseas nations. Senders U has been designed to explore why senders are crucial in seeing the Great Commission accomplished, and to give ideas on how to be involved in taking the good news around the world. Come and receive inspiration from experienced workers who have served overseas, and are now effectively sending others.

It’s been 40 years since Debbie Dorman began leading worship at Hope Chapel and she’s retiring! Though she’ll always be a worshiper, she’s moving into a season of fewer responsibilities at Hope. And we’re having a party for her on Saturday, April 21st to show her how much we appreciate all she’s done these 4 decades – the life of Hope Chapel.

Faith Lutheran is kindly sharing their fellowship hall with us (6600 Woodrow Ave, 78757). We’ll start here then move down the street for the celebration.

Gala Celebration: 6-7:30 p.m.

Hope’s auditorium/sanctuary (6701 Arroyo Seco 78757). Hang around and visit after. 

Debbie Dorman at Hope Chapel 

More than any one person at Hope, Deb has led us into worship week after week, month after month, year after year, showing us how to seek the Father’s face. She has led us deeper in pursuit of worshiping God. And in the background, she has mentored worship leaders, written songs, led multiple worship teams, directed choirs, overseen young worship students, called out excellence in musicians, joined with other churches in writing music, protected the body by choosing scriptural worship songs, done the nitty-gritty administrative work, and above all else, never stopped being a worshiper herself. Together with her husband, Jack, they have Sunday after Sunday cried out to God, humbly, honestly, and passionately while encouraging us to do the same.

Come celebrate the gift Debbie is and has been to Hope Chapel!

It’s a wintry mix and freezing temps coming in the early AM hours of Tuesday, January 16th. So Tuesday Night Classes (School of the Holy Spirit and How to Interpret and Teach the Bible) are canceled.

The Hope Chapel offices will also be closed.

Saturday, Jan. 20, 9:00 a.m.-noon with former Muslims serving with Crescent Project

These former Muslims work closely with Tom Doyle, who led us last year in learning about our Muslim neighbors. Our speaker grew up Muslim Africa and came to Christ in a disciple-making movement.God is calling him and his wife to help Christians be fruitful among Muslims. Learn more about Ali HERE.

Matt Ryniker encourages us, “Let’s turn away from fear and anxiety and learn stories of God doing great and wonderful things in the Muslim world. Let’s also learn how we can participate in what God seems determined to do. This is an important topic and I’m hopeful about what God will do among us through it.”
