Community Updates

Hope community happenings.

  1. “Smiles & Stories” Potluck Shenanigans Social on Sunday, June 14th, After the Service

Join us in the Family Room, immediately after the morning service, for our monthly Smiles & Stories Potluck Shenanigans Social! Suggested sides for our fellowship time: please bring a fruit or green salads, pasta or a dessert or anything else you’d like to eat – to go with the pizza Hope is providing.

Wear a silly hat or make one at our silly hat station. Take a photo and post it on Realm.

An open mic for sharing testimonies, encouragement or an answer to the question, “If your current season of life or if Hope Chapel was a potluck dish, what would it be and why?” Guidance about sharing over the Open Mic can be found here.

Help reset the space (chairs, cleaning kitchen, tables, sweep). It’s good to keep our church “home” tidy.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

  2. HopeKids Classes — What to Expect During the Summer

    Dear Parents,

The HopeKids ministry is happy to be able to provide classes for kids of all ages on Sunday mornings! Here’s what to expect on Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

When you arrive, a greeter will escort you to the coffee shop. There you will find the HopeKids kiosk and check in station. One of our friendly volunteers will be glad to get your kids registered and checked in for the morning. After this, you and your children will return to the sanctuary and worship together.

At the end of the singing, the children are released to their classes. Feel free to accompany your children to class and then participate in the service. Pick your kids up from their classroom when the service ends.

We look forward to meeting you and your kids this Sunday at Hope Chapel!

  3. Women’s Summer Books & Breakfast Tuesday, Beginning June 9th

Who am I? The question of identity is always in the back of our minds, and it’s currently at the forefront of social conversations.

But the first question we need to ask is: Who is God? Then we can begin to consider, And who am I in light of who He is? In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul describes God as a merciful and forgiving Father who unites us in Christ and empowers us to live by the Spirit. We’re adopted children and fellow citizens with the saints because of God’s loving pursuit on our behalf.

Come join the Women of Hope for Tuesday breakfast & studying the book of Ephesians. In this 7-session study, Bible teachers, authors, and friends Jackie Hill Perry, Jasmine Holmes, and Melissa Kruger walk through the book of Ephesians, examining the invaluable truths Paul’s letter holds for us today. Along the way, they’ll help us understand the riches of our inheritance as daughters of our heavenly Father, as well as what it means to walk in a manner worthy of our calling.

Dates: Tuesdays, June 9th – July 21st, 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM, upstairs Den at Hope Chapel (6701 Arroyo Seco 78757)

  5. Alpha Course Begins Wednesday, May 27th – Register Today for Dinner & Discussion

Alpha is an 11-week course that meets weekly for dinner and conversation. Each night sitting at a table with others, we engage in conversations centered around big life questions:

What is the meaning of life?

Can I believe that God is real?

    What is my purpose?

Each week we watch a video full of thought provoking material related to how we can interact with God and faith. Then we spend the rest of the evening at our tables discussing the topics brought up in the nightly video.

    Questions are encouraged. Disagreement allowed.

The goal of Alpha: create community and inspire thought for the believer and non believer alike.

Register to attend Alpha  HERE for Wednesday evenings, May 27th – August 5th from 6:30-8:30PM.

Questions or want to get involved?
