  2. Dooldeniya Art Opening

Join us Saturday, February 4th in the Hope Chapel Sanctuary Gallery for an artist’s reception of Pilgrimage of Light, a photography exhibit by Wendy Dooldeniya. There will be a catered reception and artist talk starting at 6:30pm, followed by an interactive Q & A. We will also have musical accompaniment by guitarist Nathan Howard.

Wendy describes her work in this way: “These images are moments of my soul hearing the voices of water, wind, light, and shadow. They are the moments that give me pause and peace in the wanderings of daily life.”

  3. Worship Service

All ages come ready to wave palms and proclaim the truth of Jesus being the Messiah whom God promised would come – the Son of God, the King of Heaven, the Light of the World come to earth to rescue us from darkness. John 12

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey (Jewish king’s signal of peace), a small contigent of Earth gathered in the city welcomed Him as Messiah. Our reenactment – no matter how small – joins us with the larger Body of Christ on the same day – millions – in joyfully anticipating the prophetically promised Return of the King!

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is He, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:9

And we look toward the day when as – Jesus Himself – said of His final return, “And they” – the entire world – will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 15.

    Rejoice!

    Abide: A Study of 1, 2 & 3 John

    By Jen Wilkin

“Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you.”  1 John 2:24

How can we hold onto assurance of our faith? How can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know God loves us? In these three short letters, the apostle John reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us, as well. In this 10-session Bible study on the letters of 1, 2, and 3, John, Jen Wilkin helps you see how two thousand years later, his words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth.
