“Light Up the Church”: Remembering Kristallnacht

On November 9, 1938, hordes of German paramilitary and citizens attacked Jewish citizens, their homes, schools, businesses, cemeteries and synagogues in what became known as Kristallnacht — the Night of Broken Glass.

Over the last decade synagogues around the world have participated in leaving their lights on all night on Nov. 9th. Churches worldwide are joining them to “let their lights shine in the darkness” Saturday, Nov. 9th in solidarity with the Jewish people, to stand against anti-semitism. At Hope Chapel, we will place about 50 “LED candles” in each of our windows visible from the streets, and yard signs out front indicating the purpose.

Brentwood Elementary Teachers/Staff Thanksgiving Feast

Brentwood Teachers & Staff Thanksgiving Luncheon Feast

Every year Hope Chapel prepares a Thanksgiving Feast for the Brentwood Elementary teachers and staff. They plan their schedules so they can break away, slip across the street and dig in! This year’s feast is in the Family Room: Tuesday, November 19th, 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM

How You Can Participate:

• Provide a side dish.

• Come meet and greet our guests from across the street.

• Visit with the teachers and staff at table.

• Come set up, help, or clean from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lots of prep: table and chair set up, decorating, and food prep to be ready by 10:30 a.m. or help refill dishes, heat food, and work in the kitchen or stay to clean up.

Look for a sign-up on Realm to help. Let’s show them another great big “Thanks” for we do give thanks to the God and Father of us all for their work in the lives of the elementary kids at Brentwood.
All-Church Christmas Lessons & Carols, Goodies After-Party

All-Church Means You!

Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to enjoy a special program of music and readings of the season on Sunday, December 8th at 5:00 p.m. Preschoolers sing, Elementary kids sing, we sing! We’ll close with our traditional “birthday pop-up” version of 12 Days of Christmas. Then we’ll go to the Family Room for snacks and goodies!

Please bring either:
• two dozen of your favorite cookies,
• a sandwich tray or
• veggie or fruit or mixed platter
for the reception immediately following the service.
The Men/Young Men We Need – Men’s Book Study

This study is for men of all ages from 13 to however old you may be. We’ll meet on Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30. (It is worth the early start!) The author states that it’s for every kind of man, and identifies himself as an “avid indoorsman” – so, whether you’re a really fit huntin’, fishin’ weight-liftin’, tattooed man or a bookish, puppet owning, president of the state librarian’s society – this study will help us all to realize and fulfill our God-given calling.

Women of Hope Spring Books & Breakfast

Join the Women of Hope for Thursday breakfast and studying Esther, a study by Kelly Minter:

A beautiful queen, her courageous cousin, a foreign land, and a murderous adversary—the book of Esther has all the elements of an epic drama. Join us for this 7-session study, where we will look at the daring faith modeled by Esther and her cousin Mordecai—a faith developed over time, rooted in the goodness of God, lived out through extraordinary circumstances, and used to change the world. Although our time looks different from Esther’s, our God is just as active and faithful today, and He has called you for such a time as this.

Date and Times: Thursdays, February 6th – March 27th (Not meeting March 20th for Spring Break) from 9:30-11:30am
Location: Upstairs Den, Hope Chapel

Childcare for 5th grade and under available until full.

Join us in the Family Room, immediately after the morning service, for our monthly “Smiles & Stories” Potluck Social!

If you feel so inspired to share on our open-mic, please do so after reviewing Our Open Mic Guidelines.

Before heading out, please help us reset the space by clearing your table and kiddos as best you can. We’ll spray tables with Purell and wipe clean, stack chairs no more than 8 high, then do a quick sweep and spot mop… voilà! ✨
