Dr. John Cogdell Celebration of Life

John Richard Cogdell, or “Papa John” as he was known in his later years, died on December 10, 2024…Papa John did a wonderful job preparing for his death. In 2011, he wrote down his wishes regarding his burial and memorial. So please join us Saturday, March 1st at 10:00 A.M. (please arrive by 9:45) – no RSVP required. Dress is casual (wear a pocket protector in his honor, if you have one!). Hope is providing a livestream for those who cannot attend.

Potluck to Follow
We’ll have a Potluck lunch afterwards in the Family Room. Please bring: a side, salad, dessert, or drink to share. Also, if you possess a wooden pen that Papa John made – he gave these to many – bring it and use it to sign the guest book.

Bring a friend or invite a guest and join your fellow Hopites after the service for a faith-filled potluck in the Family Room! Hope Chapel will provide drinks, so bring a dish to share—whether it’s a cherished family recipe, a humble HEB find, or the ever-reliable Costco pizza, all gifts are welcome at the table! Bring a game, share a story, or simply come ready for fellowship.

Just like in Acts 2:46, we’ll break bread together with glad and sincere hearts. Let’s eat, connect, and grow in faith as we share in God’s goodness. We’d love to see you there!
Nancy Proeger Celebration of Life

The Proeger family warmly invites you to join us in celebrating the life of Nancy Proeger—a cherished teacher, devoted mother, vibrant grandmother, and faithful follower of Jesus. We will gather at Hope Chapel on March 15th at 10:00AM to share stories of her remarkable life, worship together, and enjoy light refreshments as we continue to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to a fund we are establishing to support single mothers and fathers, a cause close to Nancy’s heart and an acknowledgment of what Hope Chapel’s support meant to the Proeger family.

Women of Hope Retreat 2025: Journey to God’s Heart

We are so excited for our 2025 Women’s Retreat happening March 28-30th at the beautiful Jordan Ranch Retreat Center in Schulenburg, TX. Our theme this year is Journey to God’s Heart: Who God is, Who He is not, and Growing to believe it in a Deeper Way. Come hear Ceci Proeger, Suzi Raines, Renee Sink, Melinda Armbruster, Bethany Neely, and Joelene Michel of how they grew to know and experience God and His true character.

Cost of registration is $250. This rate is for triple occupancy per room per person and includes room, standard amenities and food. Saturday Day only rate is $125. Scholarships are available. Saturday’s dinner theme this year is your favorite food mascot (think Mr. Peanut or the Green Giant) So pack your best outfit to show us your favorite food/snack–even if it was your favorite as a child!)
