What's new at Hope.

  1. Sunday Evening Service

Sunday Night Church (SNC) meets at 5:00 p.m. in the lighthouse building on Ruth Ave.

SNC opens with some art, continues with the sermon and discussion, and ends the evening with dynamic worship and prayer.

The service ends at 6:30 p.m. so there is plenty of time to go out with your friends afterward for dinner.

Note: this service does not have children’s classes or child care.

  2. How to read and interpret the Bible

Ever wondered after a plain reading of a Bible text where to go next in understanding it more deeply?

How do you look for the writer’s intentions or the theological themes or the cultural context?

Join Geno Hildebrandt in a semester long (15 week) course answering these questions.

Class meets in the pastoral office conference room from 7:00 to 7:40 pm. At 7:45 pm class participants will join those from other classes in the sanctuary for a time of worship and ministry.

Spend the first half of the semester learning the rules for sound Bible interpretation and the second half of the semester understanding how to teach the Bible in a small group setting. The principles learned are also useful for teaching in a classroom or an auditorium. The class goal is to prepare leaders for small group ministry and house church leadership.

  3. Worship Night

Join us for an evening of worship and prayer on Friday night, January 19 from 7 – 8:30 p.m.  We plan to include focused prayer toward loving those who are far from God and preparing our hearts for the following morning’s workshop, “Loving our Muslim Neighbors.”

  4. Loving Our Muslim Neighbors Workshop

A former Muslims serving with Crescent Project will help Hopites have a better understanding of how to relate to our Muslim neighbors, but more importantly how to see Muslims with God’s heart for the lost.

The Good Friday service will include music and meditations on the seven sayings of Jesus at his crucifixion with worship and speakers from all three congregations. Come hear Hopites: Diane Wall, Rob Walker, Adrienne Kiesel, Tully Rowe, along with Mac Meador and Hannah Phillips from Grace & Peace, and Dan Wire from Brentwood Bible Church reflect on the seven sayings of Jesus on the cross.
