What's new at Hope.

  1. Citywide Prayer Hyde Park

Come join in the citywide prayer hosted by Hyde Park Baptist Church (3901 Speedway, 78759) on Thursday, September 14th at 7:00 PM. Our city welcomes Jim Cymbala, senior pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, that night. Jim is the author of several books including Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire: What Happens When God’s Spirit Invades the Hearts of His People, a Christian book of the year.

Jim says in an article on prayer, “Let us evaluate the real prospects for a revival of the prayer meeting. According to Paul, it is possible to bring the Church back to God’s priorities. ‘First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men.’ from 1 Timothy 2:1. Whether in preparation for a fresh, powerful move of the Spirit or whether as a sign of an ongoing present revival of the Spirit – the prayer meeting will be paramount in the life of the Church. Hungry, sincere seekers of God will pour out their heart’s desire to Him in corporate prayer. Worship and praise will spontaneously ascend from the spirits of men and women who have seen Him who is invisible.”

  2. 10 Commandments Videos Screening Night

Have you enjoyed the videos for the 10 Commandments sermon series this summer?  Did you miss one, some or all?  Do you have friends or family that missed them and would like to see them?

This is your chance to see all 10 videos, and we will have writers, editors, actors available to answer questions about how this project came together.

So come and bring the family!  Light refreshments will be offered (for a voluntary donation to the building fund) and it should be fun and interesting all at the same time.

  3. School of the Holy Spirit

Two Semesters, on Tuesdays, beginning September 19th:

The Great Hope Camp Out October 27th

    4PM Friday to 4PM Saturday

Come to the The Great Hope Camp Out, October 27th (Friday night) at the homestead of Brett and Kay Hart, Egret Isle Farm. We are working out the details of a fish fry with everyone for lunch on Saturday, but go ahead and mark your calendars for 4pm on Friday, October 27th–Saturday around 4pm.

Bring your tent, lawn chairs, outdoor games and quick-and-easy food for your family for Friday evening and Saturday morning. This will be a relaxing, unrushed time together with no agenda other than maybe hanging around a camp fire sipping hot cider or playing a pickup game of kickball or singing along to someone’s guitar playing. Basically just enjoying being together in God’s great outdoors!

RSVP for lunch now! Email Amy Ponder.
