What's new at Hope.

  1. Childcare Workers’ Training

This training is for workers who have been hired to care for our kids at Family Night and Ladies’ Bible Study this fall. We will meet in the Lighthouse from 6 to 8pm. Contact Mandy for more information.

  2. Babysitting 101

Calling all kids aged 9 and older. Do you enjoy being with little kids but wish you had more skills in order to take care of them? Are you an older brother or sister who needs ideas on how to keep your younger siblings entertained and out of trouble? Do you want little kids to follow your instructions?

Join Ariel Czerwinski and Hala Tompkins for Babysitting 101 on Saturday, August 18, from 9-10:30am. Topics to be covered include:

    • How to create a plan for your babysitting assignment (ideas for activities, crafts and games).
    • What information you need before parents walk out of the house (emergency contact info and allergy info form).
    • What to do if someone gets an “owie” ? (Basic first aid and when to call 911.)
    • Why “stranger danger” is a good thing. (Safety and common sense.)

Kids who complete the class will leave with a Babysitting Resource Kit and a certificate of completion.

Contact Hala to sign up today!

  3. Parenting Conversation

Join Hala Tompkins and other experienced parents for a conversation about training our kids, frustration, anger and all that goes along with being a parent. We will discuss two previously assigned readings in order to have a common starting point.

Space is limited!  Sign up and request childcare by sending Hala an email.

Saturday, September 22 from 9am to noon in the pastors’ office conference room.

  4. Family Night Workers’ Dinner and Training

We’ll prepare for the kick off of Family Night with dinner and a training meeting in the Lighthouse. RSVP to Hala to let her know you’ll be there.

  5. Parent/Child Dedication Class

Calling all new parents! Have you had a baby in the past few months or years? Have you considered publicly dedicating your child to the Lord Jesus? Do you have questions about how to create a Christian home?

Plan to join Pastor Geno Hildebrandt and Children’s Ministry Director Hala Tompkins for two classes on Saturday, February 9 and 16, 2019. We will discuss the significance of child dedication, parents’ responsibilities in raising their children in the “fear and admonition of the Lord” and how to bless your children. We’ll also talk about Christian parenting and creating a Christian home. Couples are encouraged to attend these classes together.

Sign up for the classes and childcare by contacting Hala.
